Why Make Air Fried Cabbage?

If you love oven-roasted cabbage you already know how delicious it is. But if you don’t here’s a quick recap: When you roast vegetables the flavors intensify as it cooks. You’re not cooking out the flavors as like when you boil or steam, you’re cooking IN the flavors.

Roasted vegetables are typically brushed with oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper and your preferred seasonings and cooked in a hot oven on a sheet pan. They’re done when the vegetables are just soft, they have browned crispy bits on the vegetables themselves.

What to serve with Roasted Cabbage?

It pairs perfectly with pasta dishes like this Pesto Pasta. OR this vegetable-loaded stirfry that’s a top “keto shrimp recipes” google hit. Or maybe you’re more of Oven BBQ Pork Chops type of person??

When you roast cabbage in the air fryer you’re getting all the best flavors of oven-roasted vegetables with less work, less time, and also less electricity. A HUGE bonus to roasting vegetables in the air fryer is that your house stays cooler too because you’re not heating up an entire oven for a meal.

But let’s face it the ability to quickly put dinner on the table is the best reason to make air fryer cabbage!! Pair this veggie dish with these quick and easy Oven BBQ Pork Chops!

How to Roast Cabbage In the Air Fryer

It’s SO simple and it’s kind of the same process as oven roasting. You need:

Cut 1 pound of cabbage into wedges for air frying.
  • 1 pound of cabbage cut in wedges
  • olive oil-do not use PAM or other oils with propellents
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Air Fryer, I use a Cosori Basket Style Air Fryer
  • pastry brush for oil

And that’s it! If you love OTHER flavors and seasonings on your roasted vegetables by all means USE THEM! You can add a spicy cajun kick with slap yo mama, or Johnny’s. Try lemon pepper, smoked paprika, or even just red pepper flakes!

Brush cabbage with oil for better coverage.

To cook simply preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes, then lay the wedges in the basket. Brush with oil, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic. Roast at 380° for 13-15 minutes or until they are fork tender.

I don’t spray the oil for these but rather brush it on. I prefer the way brushing it on gets the oil in between all the leaves! You can absolutely use a spay or spritz bottle if you like it. Just don’t use PAM spray in your air fryer.
