Toppings That Work Best

Anything you’d put on a taco works here! Try fresh avocado, diced jalapeños, crumbled queso fresco, shredded lettuce, salsa, or a drizzle of hot sauce. A dollop of sour cream or guacamole adds extra creaminess. But you don’t actually need toppings it’s perfect in it’s simplicity.

How to Change It Up

Swap beef taquitos for chicken or cheese-filled ones for a different flavor or make the chicken taquito version if you like.

Use a spicier salsa if you want more heat. Add a can of black beans or pinto beans for extra texture and some extra fiber.

You can also try different cheeses like colby jack or sharp cheddar if that’s what you happen to have. Use pepper jack for an extra kick. Basically ANY cheese will work here so don’t sweat it too much.

Store Leftovers

Leftovers keep well in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F or the air fryer until warmed through. Or pop a serving in the microwave for a quick meal, it reheats nicely in the microwave.
