Slow Cooker Mississippi Chicken
Looking for a new slow cooker recipe? Try Missippippi Chicken! It brings all the flavor of a Mississippi Pot Roast to the slow cooker and light and lean chicken breasts. This easy dinner brings everyone to the table!

Mississippi Chicken is an easy, flavorful slow cooker dinner that brings tender, juicy chicken together with rich, savory flavors. With minimal prep and a handful of ingredients, it’s a great option for busy days when you want a comforting meal without much effort.
Bear With Me Now
Let’s unpack the Mississippi Pot Roast because it’s a different kind of recipe. You’ve got ranch seasoning power, au jus gravy powder, pepperoncini peppers and butter in a “Mississippi” anything. Sounds suspicious and weird, and I get that, but the final flavor is so tangy and unique that even the people who don’t like anything actually like it!
So that’s the Mississippi flavor combo, and now we’ve taken it to chicken! Which makes it a little more affordable, especially when combined with cooking it in the slow cooker.

What You Need To Make Mississippi Chicken
This recipe requires several specific ingredients, so be sure to write a grocery list to make sure you get everything. And when I shop for supplies, I buy extra ranch and au jus powder just to keep them on hand.
- chicken breasts
- onion
- ranch dressing mix
- au jus gravy mix
- pepperoncini peppers
- pepperoncini juice
- butter

How to Serve
You can serve Mississippi Chicken over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes to soak up the rich, savory sauce. Once the chicken is shredded, spoon it and the sauce over warm mashed potatoes.
Or serve the chicken over bread or noodles. Even rice is perfect with this saucy chicken.

Serve This With
This chicken pairs well with roasted vegetables, steamed green beans, or a crisp side salad to add some freshness to the meal.
Dinner rolls or cornbread make a great addition to soak up the extra sauce. For a lighter option, try serving it with cauliflower rice or zucchini noodles.

Use This Recipe To Meal Prep
Mississippi Chicken is a great meal prep option to enjoy throughout the week. You can serve four portions for dinner and save the remaining servings for quick lunches.
Store leftovers in airtight containers in the fridge for up to four days or freeze them for up to three months. When ready to enjoy, simply reheat and serve over your favorite sides for an easy, no-hassle meal.
