Mint: use the mint-flavored Oreos for a delicious flavor swap.

What Happens If You Put Too Much Butter In Rice Krispie Treats?

It’s important to measure your butter before mixing it in. Too much butter in the mixture will cause the Rice Krispie treats to fall apart and not set properly. The amount listed is what helps them set and stay together once you press them firmly into the pan.

Tips To Make The Best Oreo Rice Krispies

You can make Rice Krispies Treats in the microwave or on the stove. With the microwave, you’ll need to heat the marshmallows in intervals and stir frequently to avoid burning them.

The Double-stuffed Oreos have a much more gooey, vanilla-cream flavor. If you only have regular Oreos on hand, that’s fine, but know that you’re missing out on a bit of pure decadence.

Don’t overlook greasing the pan! The gooey mixture sticks easily, and the last thing you want is to leave behind pieces of dessert crusted onto the serving dish.

How To Store Krispie Treats

Rice Krispie treats are always best when eaten within the first day or two. However, if stored properly, they will stay tasty for up to four days on the counter.

Make sure to let them cool fully and then wrap the serving dish in plastic wrap, or place the Krispie treats in an airtight container and leave them at room temperature.

You can store them in the fridge for a few days longer, but know that they will harden up a bit.

Of course, you can freeze them in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months and take them out when needed. To do this, wrap each square in plastic before placing them all into the bag.
