Strawberry Cream Cheese

Fresh strawberries and cream cheese come together into a soft sweet spread that feels like something from a bakery case.

Strawberry Cream Cheese is an easy way to take a couple of fresh strawberries and turn them into something people remember. It comes together quickly and feels a little more special than plain cream cheese. The texture is light and spreadable, perfect for bagels or toast.

Bright lemon zest brings this strawberry cream cheese spread to life. The berries add small bursts of flavor while the base stays smooth and creamy. It is lightly sweet with a fresh lemony finish that keeps it from feeling heavy. The balance makes it easy to pair with a variety of breads.

This spread fits right into Easter brunch, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or any gathering where you want something easy but thoughtful. It works well with bagels, mini bagels, air fryer bagels, or any toasted bread.

Making This Ahead Of Time

You can make it ahead of time and refrigerate it until you’re just about ready to use it. Let it warm up a bit and stir it to combine it again.

It’s important to add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese and THEN add the chopped berries. If you add the sugar to the berries first you’ll get a soupy mess of juicy berries which doesn’t incorporate well with the cream cheese. While it tastes fine it’s super sloppy and messy that way.

Ingredient List For Strawberry Cream Cheese

You don’t need a LOT of berries to make this cream cheese spread, just a few will do! And the rest of the ingredients are easy to find, and you might just have them on hand.

How To Soften Cream Cheese

If your cream cheese is still firm, there are a few quick ways to soften it. Let it sit at room temperature for about 20–30 minutes if you have time.

For a faster option, cut it into small cubes so it softens more quickly. You can also microwave it in short 10–15 second bursts, checking often so it does not melt. The goal is soft and spreadable, not warm or runny.

To Store This Spread

Store the finished spread in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will keep for several days and may firm up slightly when chilled. Stir before serving to bring back the creamy texture.
