Mojito Mocktail
A Mojito Mocktail gives you the fresh, bright feel of a classic drink without any alcohol. It’s quick to make and works just as well for a quiet afternoon as it does for serving guests. The mint and lime keep it crisp, while the simple syrup lets you control the sweetness. It’s an easy drink to come back to for summer entertaining or year round parties.

This mocktail tastes clean and refreshing with a balance of citrus and mint. The lime adds a sharp note, the mint keeps it cool, and the club soda keeps everything light. It’s not heavy or syrupy, and it doesn’t feel like a watered-down substitute. Each sip stays fresh from start to finish.
This is a good option when you want something festive that everyone can enjoy. It works well for warm weather, gatherings, or anytime you want a break from sugary drinks. You can make it in minutes and easily adjust it to your taste. It also feels special without requiring extra effort.

Mojito Mocktail Ingredients
The ingredients for this mocktail are simple and easy to find in almost any grocery store. Fresh mint and lime matter here, since they’re doing most of the flavor work. You can use a store bought simple syrup but it’s so easy to make at home, and cheap too. So I included the directions on how to make it right in the recipe card.
- simple syrup, store bought or made with sugar and water-see more notes on simple syrup below
- hot water
- club soda
- limes
- fresh mint
Tools Needed
A shot glass or jigger is helpful for measuring drinks because it gives you a consistent amount each time. A standard shot, also known as a jigger, equals about 3 tablespoons. If you don’t have a shot glass, you can measure the same amount using a tablespoon or a measuring spoon. This keeps drink ratios consistent even without any bar tools on hand.
A muddler is nice because it crushes the leaves of the mint to extract the smell and taste of the leaves. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to crush them right in the cup, you don’t need to buy a muddler unless you want to.

About Simple Syrups
A simple syrup is a basic liquid sweetener you can easily make at home by dissolving sugar in warm water. It’s commonly used in drinks because it blends smoothly without leaving grit behind. You can buy plain unflavored simple syrup to make drinks but making it at home is quick and simple.
There are several ways to make a simple syrup either light, regular, or heavy. For this simple syrup you’re making the regular version which is a ratio of 1:1 equal parts sugar and water.
Combine equal parts sugar and hot water, and stir until the sugar is dissolved and no longer gritty. You don’t even need to boil the water for a simple syrup, just hot water from the tap works fine.

Use What You Have!
You can add a little more or less simple syrup depending on how sweet you like your drinks. If you’re serving them to guests go ahead and put any extra simple syrup in a little pitcher so guests can add more as needed.
If you don’t have lime you can use lemons. The flavor will be a bit different but it’s still a beautiful mocktail.
Storing Leftovers
You’re making the drinks one or two at a time, or making a pitcher of the, either way you’re probably not going to have leftovers of whole drinks. You may have leftover simple syrup. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Keep it covered and chilled until you’re ready to use it again.
Assemble the drinks fresh so the soda stays bubbly. The fresh mint garnish is best added right before serving.
