Which kind of apples to use for an apple crumble?
Apple season brings a plethora of options. Red apples, Granny Smith apples, Gala apples, and Pink Lady apples are just a few kinds of apples you might encounter in an orchard or a fruit stand. But which apples should you choose? You’ll want an apple with a firm texture and a sweet or tart flavor for the best apple crumble recipe.

Do I need to peel apples to bake with them?
You can peel your apples for this recipe OR you can leave them on the apple. The peels do cook through so it’s fine to leave them on. The nutrients of the peel stay in your recipe that way.
If you like, you can peel them! Sometimes I peel and sometimes I don’t it depends on my time and energy. Want to make it easy? Use an apple peeler!

Got leftovers?
Store leftovers lightly at room temperature for up to 2 days. It’s best lightly covered with aluminum foil, but if you need to seal it in air-tight containers, those also work fine. The crumble mixture will get softer when it’s tightly covered, just so you know it.
