Ingredients

  • 1 package white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup water
  • 10-12 oz jar maraschino cherries, drained and stems removed
  • 3 oz package cherry-flavored jello
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray
  • In a large bowl, whisk together cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until smooth

  • Pulse cherries in a food processor or blender until very finely chopped

  • Add cherries and cherry jello powder to cake batter and mix just until combined

  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean

  • Cool cake completely to room temperature

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until smooth
