Coffee House Drinks at Home
You can, with a little pre-planning, make delicious coffee house drinks right at home. This Pumpkin Pie Italian Soda is just one way to enjoy the new Pumpkin Pie Syrup from Torani. You could also make hot cocoa with it or home-brewed latte, or check out Torani for a multitude of fancy drink recipes to make right in your kitchen.
Maybe you read it, maybe you missed it, but last week I shared a post about my husband and I enjoying iced coffees most afternoons. I wrote about changing up our routine with the addition of Torani Syrups and our new favorite Sweet Cream Iced Coffee.
My kids enjoy our coffee hour too. Non-caffeinated, I can assure you. I have no desire to give my kids any more energy. So to include them sometimes we make steamers, hot cocoa, or when we have all the ingredients on hand, Italian Sodas.
The best thing about these Pumpkin Pie Italian Sodas is that you can easily find ALL the ingredients at your local grocery store. And you can keep it until you’re ready to enjoy them, except the milk or whipped cream, those do have a shelf life.
The cream sodas and the Torani can be stored in your pantry until you’re ready to whip them out and make fun coffee house drinks for friends and family. SO FUN.
These Pumpkin Pie Italian Sodas are just the kind of coffee house drink you want to make for friends, seasonal, easy AND delicious! And because you make them all separately you can customize them for friends. More milk, no milk, almond milk, more whipped cream (oh you know my kids?), a shot of cold brew, there are so many ways to change up an Italian Soda.
Fall Fundraiser Idea!
Pumpkin Pie Italian Sodas would be the PERFECT drink to sell at a fall carnival fundraiser. We’ve done Italian Sodas a lot at our school and they are always a hit. Imagine serving up tasty Pumpkin Pie as a seasonal favorite. And again with one-stop at Fred Meyer you’ve got all the fixings you need!
Or serve them at your next Fall Bash, I know I’ll be serving them at our Harvest Home Party on Equinox. They’re the perfect drink for any party because they’re festive AND non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated. Generally perfect for any crowd really.
How to Make an Italian Soda
BUT there is a precise method to making an Italian Soda or you’ll have a disgusting mess on your hands that NO ONE will want to drink. You have to layer in the ingredients in this order or your milk will curdle.
The Order of Ingredients for an Italian Soda:
- ice
- syrup
- milk or half n half
- soda water or carbonated drink of your choice
- whipped cream
- maybe fresh nutmeg if you like it
It’s simple enough but you’d be surprised how many times I’ve got to stop and think about it.
Where to Find Torani?
Good question! Use their Handy Dandy store locator and find out! I usually find it in the coffee and tea aisle. I live in Palmer Alaska, and I always feel like if I can find here, in the middle of nowhere then it’s available to just about everyone!
