Slow Cooker Chocolate Cherry Cobbler

- 4 cups Bing cherries pitted, fresh or frozen
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup butter melted
- 1 box chocolate cake mix dry
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Place the cherries in the slow cooker insert
In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cornstarch
Sprinkle over the cherries and stir to combine
Let the cherries rest for a few minutes to release some juice
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan
Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cherries
Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top
Cover and cook on high for 2 1/2-3 hours, or until bubbly and cooked through
Serve warm
- Fresh or frozen cherries both work well in this recipe.
- No need to thaw frozen cherries before using.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra special dessert.
