- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Combine the water and lemon juice in a saucepan or Dutch oven
Place over low heat
Stir in the sugar
Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved and the syrup is smooth and no longer gritty, do not boil the syrup, you only need to melt the sugar into the liquid
Pour into a jar or bottle
Refrigerate until ready to use
- Store the syrup in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Adjust the syrup-to-water ratio to make the lemonade sweeter or more tart.
- Serve over plenty of ice for the most refreshing flavor.
