Preheat oven to 325º
dust the pie pan with a little flour and gently ease your pie crust into it
trim off any excess crust
crimp around the edges and set aside
Beat butter and both sugars together with a mixer until light and fluffy
Beat in eggs and vanilla
mix the flour and salt together
Stir in the dry ingredients until fully combined
Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts
scrape into prepared pie shell
bake in the center of the oven for 45-50 minutes until the filling is just set in the center and the top is lightly golden brown
Remove from oven and let cool completely on a wire rack before serving
slice and serve with ice cream, dessert sauces, or whipped cream on top of the pie or next to it
