Baked Dressing

This easy Baked Thanksgiving Dressing is ready to roll when make it ahead of time.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter divided
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning or use italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic granules or garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt more to taste
  • 1 3/4 cup chicken broth use whatever you like best or have on hand or homeade stock
  • 12 ounce corn bread stuffing mix I used Mrs. Cubbison's

Instructions

  • preheat the oven to 350°
  • butter a 9x13 baking dish, set aside
  • heat 3/4 cup of butter in a large frying pan
  • add the onion and celery
  • cook and stir until the onion and celery is soft
  • add the garlic, seasoning, and salt
  • turn off the heat
  • stir in the stufing mix
  • slowly add enough of the broth to make a very moist stuffing
  • taste the stuffing, add more salt, herbs or garlic as needed
  • spoon the stuffing into the prepared baking dish
  • dot with remaining 1/4 cup of butter
  • cover with foil
  • bake for 30-45 minutes
  • serve hot
