  • 2 cups frozen edamame
  • 1 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated ginger
  • 2 pinches red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  • heat 1/2 cup of water in a 10 inch skillet over medium heat
  • add the frozen edamame, cover and steam 3-4 minutes
  • mince garlic and grate ginger if not already done
  • once the edamame is done drain any remaining water
  • put the skillet back over medium heat and toss the edamame to dry it off
  • push the edamame to the back of the skillet
  • pour the oil in the open space heat for 1 minutes
  • add the garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes, and stir until fragrant, 30 seconds or so
  • then toss together with the edamame
  • sprinkle with salt and sesame seeds and serve hot

Notes

  • add more heat to this recipe by sprinkling on chili oil or more red pepper flakes
  • adjust the salt to your taste, I originally started with no salt an had to add it until it tasted good to me
