This giant soft chocolate chip cookie is definitely a crowd-pleaser when you bring it out for dessert!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1//2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips divided, use a mix of milk and semi-sweet chips,
  • 2 ounces bar chocolate chopped, you can sub with extra chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon flakey sea salt or or kosher salt
  • vanilla ice cream for topping

Instructions

  • preheat the oven to 350°
  • cream the butter and both sugars until soft and fluffy
  • beat in the egg and the vanilla
  • mix the flour, 1/4 tsp salt, and baking soda together in a separate bowl
  • add to the butter mixture and stir to combine
  • then stir in 2/3 cup of the chocolate chips and the chopped chocolate
  • pat the dough into a 10-inch cast-iron skillet
  • sprinkle with the remaining chocolate chips and the flakey sea salt
  • bake for 15 minutes
  • top with ice cream and serve immediately
