preheat the oven to 350°
line two baking sheets with parchment and set aside

dip a cup in flour and press until the cookies are about 1/3 inch thick

make the icing by beating together the butter and powdered sugar
add the peppermint extract and stir until smooth
put the candy canes in a food processor and pulse until finely chopped
frost each cookie in a spiral and then with the crushed candy canes
