I love this week! IT’S FINALLY Choctoberfest. My first recipe this week is for a Homemade Instant Mocha Mix. Homemade Instant Mocha Mix! YES. I love this recipe because it’s so easy to make and absolutely flexible.
Mocha for People with Allergies
It’s perfect for anyone with a dairy allergy, it can be made with any milk you’re able to drink. So almond, soy or coconut are all perfect to use, although you may need to change the amount of milk OR mix to make it taste just right with those alternative kinds of milk. Be sure to try it before making and sharing with friends, you don’t want to hand out drinks that don’t have enough mix in them.
Give the Gift of a Mocha
You can make up a batch of Mocha Mix and drink it for yourself OR have kids make it for gifts for teachers. Or make it and give it as a gift to the teacher’s lounge, always appreciated. be sure when you make it and give it you include a copy of the recipe AND the directions so the recipients can make some for giving too.
Homemade Instant Mocha Mix
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 TBSP unsweetened cocoa
- 1 1/2 TBSP espresso powder
Instructions
- mix all ingredients in a bowl
- sift combine well
- remove any lumps
- store in a jar until ready to use
- to use: heat 1 cup of milk
- stir in 1 1/2 TBSP mocha mix, stir to combine
- pour in a mug and top with whipped cream if desired
