Looking to level up your S’mores this summer? This Salted Caramel S’mores recipe is here to serve. And serve it does!
Mmmm, buttery cookies, caramel, chocolate, marshmallows, and a sprinkle of sea salt make this Salted Caramel S’mores Recipe one of the best ways to enjoy s’mores! Plus, you can make these Salted Caramel S’mores right in the oven, so they’re easy to make—no campfire needed!
Fine, you can make them over the campfire as well. But making them in the oven means you can make one whenever you want or need a s’more—all winter long, too.
This is an adult s’more, and my kids prefer regular s’mores. But hey if your kids like salted caramel and fancy butter cookies they’ll love these s’mores!
What You Need to Make Salted Caramel S’mores
Everything for these fancy s’mores is similar to regular s’mores but just elevated. Well except the marshmallows, I used regular. If you’re using fancy, good on you!
- fancy butter cookies
- salted caramel chocolates from Ghiradeli
- fleur de sel
- marshmallows
None of those links are affiliate links. They’re to show you what you can use that is very similar to what I used.
If you can only find salted caramel squares from Ghiradeli then use them and skip the fleur de sel.
To Make S’mores in the Oven
To make these fancy smores in the oven is easy! You don’t need a campfire or to be camping to enjoy smores at home.
Preheat the broiler and line a baking sheet with foil. Place two of the cookies on the baking sheet, and place two marshmallows on top of them. Press the marshmallows down slightly on top of the cookies.
Place in the oven as far away from the broiler element as possible. Broil just until the marshmallow is browned and melty. It doesn’t take long, so be on the lookout!
If your gas stove doesn’t allow you to move it from far away from the flame, consider toasting marshmallows right over the open flame on the stove top. Be careful not to let the marshmallow catch on fire or drip into the burner. Or you can bake the marshmallows in the oven just on bake.
Don’t broil or bake the s’mores so long that the cookies become soft.
Once the marshmallows are soft and toasty, pull them out and assemble the smores by stacking on chocolate and the remaining cookies.
