Once you buy the panko bread crumbs everything else is probably IN your pantry already. There’s nothing special about the rest of the ingredients.

Don’t have Panko? I highly suggest you pick some up, the difference between Panko and bread crumbs is so vast that overall those would be different pork chops. BUT if you have them and you don’t want to buy Panko try it! They’ll still be crispy pork chops.

Why are my Air Fryer Chops Tough?

Typically air fryer chops are tender and juicy. If your chops are tough you might have overcooked them. Use an instant-read thermometer to test for doneness.

Also, remember to pull them out of the air fryer at 5˚ BELOW your desired doneness because meat continues to cook after it’s taken off the heat.

You may also have been trying to use boneless pork chops. Boneless chops have a tendency to be very lean and cook very quickly. This often leads to them being dry. Bone-in chops are rarely dry unless overcooked.

How long to cook chops in the air fryer?

Generally, the timing is 14-16 minutes at 400˚, depending on thickness and if it’s boneless or not. The BEST way to know how long to cook pork chops in the air fryer is by using a digital thermometer. And cook them until they reach an internal temperature of 145˚. Be sure to let them rest before serving so they finish cooking. If you like them more well done cook them to 155˚.

Made these for dinner tonight, easy peasy, had all the ingredients on hand and my pork chops came out perfect just like the recipe said. Thanks so much for sharing!

    1. That sounds like you either heated up the air fryer with the paper in but no food on the paper and it flew into the element.
      OR
you cooked your pork chops at a higher temperature than 400°F or your air fryer is cooking hotter than 400.

I’ve never had paper burn at 400° because it doesn’t ignite at temps LESS than 451°

Very good! I revised the spices and used bourbon smoked paprika and smoked salt. The temperature & time suggested worked perfectly.

  5. I never leave comments but had to on these. I made them exactly like the recipe and these are the very worst. No crunch and the breading was like paste. If you can make these and they turn out great, awesome.. But for me I will never make them again! They were uneatable

    1. Wow I am so sorry to hear that! What kind of air fryer do you have? I am happy to help trouble shoot this.

  6. I hope so! My air fryer just died so I will try this using the oven making sure to keep track of the temp of the pork chops – wish me luck!

  7. Do I cook these for 12 minutes Total -6 minutes on each side ? Then add a couple minutes, if not ready? I’m actually making them right now.

  8. I’m so confused. When you cook I’m the air fryer, do you bake them or set it to “air fry?” No one ever mentions this.
